THE full list of candidates standing in the all-out Redditch Borough Council election next month has been revealed. 

On 2 May 2024, Redditch residents will take to the polls to vote - with all 27 seats on the council up for grabs. 

New wards have been created from the Electoral Review carried out by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.

Candidates standing for the Astwood Bank and Feckenham ward are Brandon Clayton (Conservative), Gilly Cooper (Labour), David Gee (Lib Dems), Malcolm Hall (Lib Dems), Christopher Holz (Conservative), Colin Smith (Labour), Matt Smith (Labour), Glen Theobold (Green) and Craig Warhurst (Conservative).

In the Batchley and Brockhill ward election, the candidates are Sara Allmark (Lib Dems), Joe Baker (Labour), Lucy Harrison (Conservative), Finlay Heath (Conservative), Wanda King (Labour), Christopher Marshall (Conservative), Sachin Mathur (Labour), Martin Mcleod (Lib Dems), Kerrie Miles (Lib Dems) and Lea Room (Green).

For the Central ward, the candidates are William Boyd (Labour), Glenn Harris (Lib Dems), Sharon Harvey (Labour), David Heaselgrave (Green), Roy Magara (Lib Dems), Ummar Memi (Conservative), Sully Mohammed (Conservative), Junior Qadeer (Conservative) and Gary Slim (Labour).

Candidates standing in the Greenlands and Lakeside ward are Juma Begum (Labour), Susan Clarke (Conservative), Peter Fleming (Conservative), Andrew Fry (Labour), Joanna Kane (Labour), Timothy Pearman (Conservative), Jade Taylor (Lib Dems) and Kevin White (Green).

In the Headless Cross and Oakenshaw ward election, the candidates are Tom Baker-Price (Conservative), Juliet Barker Smith (Labour), Roger Bennett (Conservative), Stuart Davies (Green), Andrew Fieldsend-Roxborough (Lib Dems), Edward Killworth (Lib Dems), David Munro (Labour), Helen Sanders (Conservative) and Ian Woodall (Labour).

In the Matchborough and Woodrow election, Juliet Brunner (Independent), Theo Ellinas (Conservative), James Fardoe (Labour), Kathryn Manning (Green), Emma Marshall (Conservative), Jane Spilsbury (Labour), Diane Thomas (Lib Dems), Andy Thompsons (Lib Dems), Nathan Winter (Conservative), and Paul Wren (Labour), are all standing.

Candidates standing in the North ward include Karen Ashley (Conservative), Mike Chalk (Conservative), Bill Hartnett (Labour), Jo Heaselgrave (Green), Sid Khan (Labour), Kerry Simons (Conservative), Monica Stringfellow (Labour) and Mark Tomes (Lib Dems).

In the Webheath and Callow Hill ward election, the candidates are Salman Akbar (Conservative), Margot Bish (Green), Claire Davies (Green), Matthew Dormer (Conservative), Monica Fry (Labour), Ann Gee (Lib Dems), Mark Harvey (Labour), Sharon Howard (Green), Hannah McGahan (Labour) and Gemma Monaco (Conservative).

In the Winyates ward election, Clare Beckhelling (Green), Amanda Canning (Conservative), Luke Court (Conservative), Julian Grubb (Conservative), John Marsh (Lib Dems), Alan Mason (Labour), Rita Rogers (Labour) and Jen Snape (Labour), are all standing.

To vote in the election, residents must be on the electoral register by the end of April 16. People can do this via www.gov.uk.

Those who cannot get to the polling station on May 2 can apply to vote by post. Applications can be made on line www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote. This must be completed by 5pm on April 17.

People also have the choice of appointing a proxy to vote on your behalf, this can be applied via www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote and must be completed by 5pm on April 24.
