POLICE have confirmed that a teenage girl was led to safety after a concern for welfare was raised yesterday afternoon (Monday June 4) in Redditch.
Emergency services were alerted at around 1.30pm after a report of a concern for the welfare of a woman on a bridge, near the Alexandra Hospital.
Woodrow Drive was closed to traffic and motorists urged to find alternative routes as officers worked to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
This morning West Mercia Police has confirmed the incident was resolved safely.
A force spokesperson said: “At around 1.35 yesterday (4 June) we were called to a concern of welfare of a teenage girl on a footbridge on Woodrow Drive in Redditch.
“Following support for officers, the girl was taken away from danger where she was passed into the care of appropriate services.”
