THE National Lottery has revealed whether or not a £500,000 prize from a Thunderball draw has been claimed in Redditch after a 6-month search.

Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, announced today (June 6) that the huge prize from the draw on 8 December 2023 has remained unclaimed for more than 180 days after the draw took place.

The ticket-holder bought their ticket in Redditch and the deadline for the ticket-holder to claim their prize was at midnight on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.

"However, the money will now add to the £30m raised each week for National Lottery-funded projects.”

A project in Redditch that has benefited from National Lottery funding is Redditch Nightstop, which provides emergency accommodation and support for people facing homelessness aged between 16 and 35. In September 2023 it was awarded £465,000 to support its vital work.

Another project is the Koala Tree, which is a a talking therapy service in Redditch for parents and parents-to-be who may be struggling with their journey through parenthood. The project was awarded just under £10k in September 2023 for their parent support groups helping new mums and dads to build strong relationships and share advice to help families thrive.
