A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital after he was attacked with a knife in Redditch. 

West Mercia Police said officers were called to Evesham Road, near the Park Inn, at around 8.40pm last night (Friday, June 14) after reports of a disorder.

When they arrived, they found a man had suffered injuries believed to have been caused by a knife.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of an assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Theresa Vaughan said: “Although we have one person arrested in connection with this incident, we would like to appeal for any witnesses who may have information to help us piece together what has happened.

“A police presence will remain at the scene for some time as enquiries are carried out, but it is not believed there is any further threat to the wider public.”
