SHOCKING footage was shared on social media of a knife attack in Redditch.

Officers were called to Evesham Road, near the Park Inn, at around 8.40pm on Friday evening (June 14).

A video of the incident, which was widely shared on Facebook, shows four men on Evesham Road, with a knife being brandished. The video, which has since been deleted, later shows a man being chased on the road. A man falls to the ground and is seen being hit with a knife.

West Mercia Police said they found a man had suffered injuries "believed to have been caused by a knife" when they arrived at the scene.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

An 18-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of an assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.

West Mercia Police have also launched an appeal for witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Theresa Vaughan said: “Although we have one person arrested in connection with this incident, we would like to appeal for any witnesses who may have information to help us piece together what has happened.
