An international eyewear retailer has expanded into a new premises in Redditch.
Belvoir and Co has already broken through the £1 million sales barrier in the year to date with young entrepreneur Deklan Vines remaining focused on a £10 million target after moving to a bigger site in Little Forge Road.
The company has now secured a five-year lease on the 2, 711 sq ft unit 5.
Mr Vines, aged 30, said: "The unit was in need of work, but we took it as it was and have now expanded it to 4,000 sq ft over two floors to cater for our growth.
"We previously worked out of a 500 sq ft unit but we had outgrown that. I launched the business with my brother Bradley back in 2016, although he has stepped back to be a minority shareholder now.
"We went to school with the guys behind Gymshark, the athletic clothing brand. They used to show us around their warehouse and gave us lots of advice on growing a business."
The company really took off after Covid hit in 2020 with the likes of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo wearing Belvoir and Co.
The biggest market is in the USA followed by the Middle East and the UK with the company selling around 18,000 pairs of sunglasses so far this year. This is up 110% on last year.
The new warehouse was secured with the help of James Haynes, an apprentice surveyor at John Truslove.
Mr Vines said: "We needed a new warehouse, and this unit was ideal. We had dealt with John Truslove when we secured our first premises, so we knew how good they were to work with.
"James Haynes has been really helpful throughout the whole process.
“At the moment we have space for a workplace gym for the team to work, but as we keep growing it is going to fill up soon. The demand for quality, but affordable, eyewear that we design shows no sign of slowing down."
James Haynes added: "Deklan knew what he needed and we were able to help seal a deal with the landlords that worked for all parties.
"This is a thriving retail business that is set to just keep growing and deals like this underline the strength of the local economy and the commercial property market in this area."
