A MAN has been handed a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) banning him from contacting his victim.
Rory Williams, aged 25, of Auxerre Avenue in Redditch, was given the order on Tuesday (June 18) for 28 days at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court.
If Williams is to breach his DVPO by making contact with his victim, he could face a custodial sentence.
Detective Inspector Laura Douglas, from North Worcestershire’s protecting vulnerable people team, said: “Domestic Violence Protection Orders allows us to take immediate action to protect vulnerable victims, and give them a degree of breathing space from the perpetrator while they consider their options with the help of support agencies available.
“We’re pleased that the court has recognised the importance of this DVPO and granted the order for 28 days against Williams.”
People can report cases of domestic abuse by visiting the West Mercia Police website.
