A popular community event is set to return to Redditch next week and promises to be even better than last year.
Astwood Bank Carnival is set to host an action-packed weekend of fun and entertainment in the town.
The carnival weekend will start on Friday, July 12 with the new Summer Sundowner Festival taking place in the carnival marquee from 7pm at Carnival Field, Sandhills Farm in Astwood Bank.
The family-friendly event will be the perfect way to set the carnival vibe with a performance from the amazing local band The Troubadours, a DJ set, food and a bar provided by Why Not Inn.
Astwood Bank Community Group Vice Chair, Matt Connor-Hemming, said: "We are really excited about this new event. It has become a much-loved village tradition to have an event on the evening before the carnival.
"Everyone enjoys starting the weekend, watching the sun go down over the carnival field and dancing into the night."
Following the success of previous years, there will be a free shuttle bus service sponsored by Royal Motorways.
The bus will run from the Sundowner to Evesham Road to help with the journey there and home again.
It will be picking visitors up and dropping them off using the bus stops along Evesham Road from Edgioake Lane to Crabbs Cross Island.
The carnival will run throughout the weekend from Friday (July 12) to Sunday (July 14).
Organisers Astwood Bank Community Group have said it will be another "cracking night" with music, dancing and a bit of carnival magic.
There will also be fire eaters at the 2024 event.
Tickets can only be purchased in advance online at www.astwoodbankcg.co.uk/sundowner-before-carnival/
Tickets cost £5 each with under-16s being able to attend for free.
The carnival theme for 2024 is 'Mardi Gras Rio Carnival' to help celebrate summer in Astwood Bank in party style.
There will also be a procession through the streets of Astwood Bank from 12pm on Saturday (July 13).
