Two car parks in Redditch are set to temporarily close next week as part of ongoing maintenance and improvement work.

Redditch District Council has issued a reminder to residents that the car parks at Arrow Valley will be closed for three days for resurfacing.

The improvement work has been taking place since April with the car park on Battens Drive, opposite Lidl, set to be closed in the week beginning Monday, July 8.

The car park is set to be resurfaced and repainted as part of the final stages of upgrades for the Battens Drive car park that saw the entrance to the Country Park reconfigured to allow for a better flow of traffic.

Redditch Borough Council's interim head of environment and property services, Simon Parry, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience that these works cause for the week, but we are pleased that this project has already had a positive impact.

"The reconfigured access has already proved beneficial to the park and we hope this next stage will only continue the success we've seen so far with the new and improved parking provision."

The car park on Proctors Barn Lane, up the ramp through the height barrier, will also be closed in the week beginning Monday, July 8, to be resurfaced as part of the scheme.

Mr Parry added: "Arrow Valley is an incredibly popular location in the town as we know how important car parks are to allowing residents a stress-free visit.

"This ongoing work to improve our car parks is important to maintain our town as a destination."
