PICTURES show the shocking state of two Redditch homes after nuisance tenants were evicted.

In both cases, led by Redditch Borough Council’s Safer Neighbourhood’s Team, The Court Bailiff, assisted by local Police removed the nuisance tenants, both men, from each council property.

The reports of anti-social behaviour included extensive damage to the property made by the tenants and their friends.

In one instance the property was being sub-let.

Pictures released show holes in the wall, broken fixtures and fittings and discarded waste and rubbish, which will all add to the list of repairs.

Redditch Borough Council’s Portfolio-holder for Housing Cllr Bill Hartnett said: “These evictions prove that we will not tolerate anti-social behaviour in our properties especially when it has a negative impact on the quality of life of our communities and damages our much-needed homes.

“The Council, and ultimately the taxpayer, has to foot the bill to carry out the repairs and we will continue to take robust action to put an end to anti-social behaviour in our communities.”

Police Sergeant David Roberts, of Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The Safer Neighbourhood Team will continue working in partnership with the local council to ensure tenants who commit ASB are supported to change their behaviours.

“Where they do not work with us and the behaviour continues, we will seek to push for evictions as in these cases.”
