A Redditch sports hub is one of many across the country where parents can donate their children's old sports gear.
As part of the nationwide ‘Sports for All’ campaign, families are encouraged to help marginalised children by helping provide them with access to sports equipment and uniforms.
This initiative is following in the footsteps of a similar project from half a century ago.
Its launch is timely following a decrease in physical activities among adults and children.
Sports hub, 360 Play, calls for public participation in the charitable initiative.
It urges parents to take the opportunity to donate any sports gear that is no longer needed or fits their children.
Contributions can include anything from football boots and sports uniforms to tennis rackets and basketballs.
The donation process is simple - donors only need to bring their pre-loved sports gear to the nearest 360 Play hub.
The staff then ensures that the items are cleaned and ready to be distributed to children in need.
The initiative aims to assist families who are unable to provide their children the required sports gear and hence, miss out on the health benefits and joy derived from staying active and participating in sports.
