Police have issued a warning over riding off-road bikes on public land.

Church Hill SNT said they had been receiving reports of people riding off-road bikes on public land in the Church Hill area and have reminded residents that the bikes are not road-legal.

This means they should not be driven on public roads or public property including footpaths, forests, parks and car parks.

Officers said that if you are seen riding an off-road bike then you are at risk of having the bike seized.

Off-road bikes can be ridden on private land with permission from the landowners.

A spokesperson for Church Hill SNT said: "We have been receiving reports of people riding off-road bikes on public land.

"These bikes are not road legal and should not be driven on public roads or public property.

"If you are seen riding an off-road bike then you are at risk of having your off-road bike seized."
