WARRANTS linked to county lines drug dealing were executed in Redditch this morning (Tuesday July 23) in ongoing efforts to tackle the supply of illegal drugs in the town.

Police targeted addresses in Mount Street, Beoley Road East and Other Road making three arrests and recovering evidence of class A drugs, mobile phones, a machete, nunchucks, and cash.

A man in his 40s was arrested at Other Road, a man in his 20s was arrested at Mount Street, and a third man, in his 20s, was arrested later in the morning on the A435 near Portway.

All three on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

They remain in police custody as enquiries continue.

Safer Neighbourhood Inspector for Redditch, Richard Field, said: “This morning we executed three warrants in Redditch suspected to be linked to county lines drug dealing in the town.

“Working together with our colleagues at West Midlands Police, these raids were aimed at stopping those who deal drugs here which have a harmful impact on the communities we protect and serve.

“Drug dealers prey on some of the most vulnerable people in society and their presence in turn causes more crime such as shoplifting, burglary and anti-social behaviour.

“Our actions were in response to residents’ concerns and police intelligence work. We will always act upon information given to us as we continue ongoing efforts to drive criminality away from the town.”

Officers from Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team targeted were working alongside police from the Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team (NCFT), the Local Policing Priority Team (LPPT) and the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) on the raids.
