Police have issued a warning to residents after a spate of attempted vehicle thefts around Redditch.

Batchley and Central SNT said West Mercia Police have been made aware of a number of attempted car thefts in the last six to eight weeks around the areas of Batchley and Brockhill.

Officers said the attempts appear to have taken place in the early hours of the morning between 12am and 2am.

The suspect is described as white male and wearing a white surgical mask, grey jogging bottoms and a black hoodie with his head covered.

A spokesperson for Batchley and Central SNT said: "It has come to local police attention that there has been a number of attempted thefts from motor vehicles in the last six to eight weeks.

"Can I remind residents to please ensure that vehicles are always locked as there have been incidents where they were not, to remove all belongings from the vehicle and if possible that vehicles are left in a well-lit and visible position to help deter further incidents.

"If anyone happens to have any CCTV of this person or anyone with similar intent, please get in contact with us at bc.snt@westmercia.police.uk."
