LIKE-minded women can get support and make new friends as Redditch Borough Council launches a series of menopause meet-Ups.
These new informal groups where experiences and coping strategies can be shared are open to women of all ages and is run by volunteers on a not for profit basis.
The first get together will be held on August 5, at the Boathouse in Arrow Valley Countryside Centre on August 5, 12.30pm and for the rest of the year, on September 2, October 7, November 4, December 9, all at 12.30pm
Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio-holder for leisure councillor Juliet Barker-Smith said: “Rather than going through a life event alone, which can be very daunting, these meetups offer a chance to share experiences with people who are going through exactly the same the thing.
“Swapping stories and advice, alongside a cuppa and a laugh or two, can make a stressful time more manageable.”
From August 21, sessions will also be run at the Sandycroft Centre, each week at 6pm.
Council Leader Joe Baker added: “We are proud to lead on this initiative which supports the health and well-being of our residents.”
