A free entry food and community festival is set to take place in Redditch this weekend.
The Redditch and Bromsgrove Multicultural Food and Community Festival will be held at Winyates Craft Centre and is aimed at celebrating cultures from around the world.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 3 with free food tasting available as well as the opportunity to watch live cooking demonstrations.
The food on offer includes tasters from Poland, Ukraine, China and Jamaica.
There will even be a pedal power smoothie bike for visitors to make their own smoothie drink.
The event will also feature a variety of music and dance including local talent Elsie Fletcher who was runner-up in this year's Redditch Has Got Talent and performances from It's A Sign dance group and Ukrainian Dancers.
Councillor David Ross, cabinet Member for health and wellbeing at Worcestershire County Council, said: "I’m delighted we are supporting this event which will bring communities together to experience food and entertainment from around the world and learn how to create these healthy dishes in their own home."
For children, there is an around-the-world storytelling tent where they can hear folk tales from around the globe on the hour.
Children and their families can also get involved in lots of multicultural crafts and dress up in traditional African dress.
Councillor Juliet Barker-Smith, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for leisure and culture said: "Redditch is rich in its diversity and this event is set to bring all our communities together to showcase and celebrate a myriad of flavours and aromas, giving us the opportunity of new and interesting dishes to experience and share."
The event has been organised by Karen from Inspire; Sue Yeng from Redditch Community Relations Council, and Jo Bussay and Karen Poulter from Redditch Loves.
No booking is required and visitors can just turn up at Winyates Craft Centre on the day.
People are advised to arrive early and parking will be available in the Winyates Centre car park, Redditch, B98 0NR.
The event will run from 12pm until 4pm.
This event has been supported by Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health team and the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.
