Redditch Labour Party has thanked residents for their support after hundreds attended a uniform bank event last weekend.
The event, which was held in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, saw more than 450 residents leave with bags full of uniforms including branded items, shirts, trousers, coats and shoes.
The twelfth annual uniform bank was held on Saturday (August 3) and was organised by Redditch Labour Party with the help of supporters and volunteers.
Councillor Sharon Harvey said: "Once again we have successfully helped hundreds of families with the cost of new clothes whilst saving thousands of items from being thrown away and wasted.
"We cannot do this without the generous people who donate it all in the first place."
Following the event, residents praised the organisation and said the volunteers had done "wonders for families".
One resident said: "Thank you so much, I don't know how we'd send all 3 of our children in proper uniform without this.
Another said: "Lovely and very well organised. I got what I needed as only one year left at school."
Another resident added: "Thank you so much, you have done wonders for families. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Redditch Labour has also thanked the Kingfisher Centre for their clothing donation point and use of one of their units and also Inspire for being a donation point.
A donation bucket raised just over £100 which will be divided between Peter Martin's Redditch Self Defence project and the Christmas Toy Appeal run by the local churches.
Leftover uniform will be collected by New Starts who are opening up on the retail park next to Sainsbury's.
