REDDITCH is set to welcome a popstar who was in one of the biggest boybands of the 90s to this year's Summer Fest event.
Singer and rapper Abz Love, from boyband Five, will be performing at the free event organised by Redditch BID later this month.
The star is known for his hits including Everybody Get Up, Keep on Movin’ and If Ya Getting’ Down, and is set to delight old fans and new at the festival.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 17, starting at 11.00 am in Redditch town centre.
Redditch BID manager Muj Rahman said: “We are thrilled to have Abz join us for this year’s Summer Fest.
“His passion for music and connection with the audience makes him an ideal addition to our lineup. We can’t wait to see him perform live.”
In addition to his live performance on stage, Abz will attend a meet and greet at Kingfisher Shopping Centre, Redditch between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
It will be an opportunity for fans to take a selfie or grab an autograph. The event with be on a first come, first served basis.
The Redditch Summer Fest will also feature a range of artists, including Totally Crazy – a Shania Twain tribute, the West End Jersey Boys, the Harmony Reggae Band, Phil Collins - Easy Lover Tribute, and Take it at That – a tribute to the greatest hits of Take That.
Ministry of Sound DJ Danny Decibel and DJ RVP from Popworld will also be performing.
There will be local craft traders and street food vendors on the day.
It's not the first time Redditch BID has brought a pop megastar to the town. Thousands of people gathered to witness Peter Andre switch on Redditch’s Christmas lights last year.
