REDDITCH residents and visitors from far and wide partied in the town centre at this year's Summer Fest on Saturday (August 17).
This year, the festival was graced by the presence of special guest Abz Love from the popular 90s boy band Five.
Festival-goers enjoyed a diverse lineup of performances, which included the West End Jerseys, the popular Harmony Reggae Band and a Take That tribute.
Abz's performances of well-known songs ‘Everybody Get Up, Keep on Movin' and ‘If Ya Getting Down’ were a highlight of the weekend, as he entertained the crowd with a mix of classic hits and new favourites.
In addition to his live performance on stage, Abz also attended a meet and greet at Kingfisher Shopping Centre, where fans were able to take a selfie with him and grab an autograph.
Muj Rahman, Redditch BID manager, said that this year's event was a "resounding success" as up to 2,000 people visited the free festival on the day.
He said: “The energy at Redditch Summer Fest was incredible.
“Having Abz with us not only drew in a larger crowd but also created unforgettable memories for everyone who attended.
"We are grateful to all our performers, partners, and attendees for making this event a success.”
In addition to the music, the festival featured local artisans, craft vendors, and interactive workshops, showcasing the creativity and talent of the Redditch community.
The BID team said that attendees left with smiles, souvenirs, and a renewed sense of community spirit.
It's not the first time Redditch BID has brought a pop megastar to the town. Thousands of people gathered to witness Peter Andre switch on Redditch’s Christmas lights last year.
