TRAVELLERS have moved from the Abbey Stadium car park after caravans parked up earlier this week.
There were reportedly six caravans seen at the leisure centre car park on Monday afternoon (August 19).
It was reported to Redditch Borough Council who confirmed they were monitoring the situation.
A spokesperson for the council said: "We are working with our partners to monitor the situation and assess whether any action may be required".
The encampment is no longer at the Abbey Stadium after they were told they had until 6pm to leave on Monday.
Richard Field, safer neighbourhood inspector for Redditch said on X: "We are aware of an encampment at the Abbey Stadium.
"The group have been given until 1800 hrs today to leave.
"If they do not leave by this time a section 60C CJPO (Criminal Justice and Public Order) notice will be served meaning they must leave by 20/08/24.
"@RedditchCops will be patrolling this area until the site is clear as we understand the local impact this encampment has had.
"We will use all available powers to remove the encampment as soon as we can.
"Please bear with us while we go through the appropriate legal channels".
In an update on Tuesday morning, he added: "I can confirm that the unauthorised encampment is no longer at the Abbey Stadium".
