New data has revealed the number of donations made to the Redditch MP in the last 12 months.

MPs are required to declare their financial interests within 28 days of the start of a new Parliament.

They must also disclose any gifts or benefits they receive that could be reasonably considered to influence what they say or do as MPs.

Newly-elected MPs must disclose any relevant financial interests from the year before their election.

The figures show Redditch MP Chris Bloore received £20,500 in donations in the last year.

Responding to the data, he said: "I'm extremely grateful to the local businesses, Trade Unions and residents that pledged their financial support to my campaign.

"It's not cheap to run a general election campaign and it's critically important we always know where the money in British politics is coming from that is paying for our leaflets and our Facebook adverts.

"All donations and financial interests can be viewed at any time on Parliament’s website."

In total, 498 MPs reported the donations that they received. Labour MPs received the highest amount with a total of £9.3 million, followed by the Liberal Democrats with £3.2 million, and the Conservatives with £1.7 million.

Data for how much MPs earned from paid employment was also included in the release for the relevant MPs.
