A Redditch logistics company worker has been recognised as one of two recipients of an 'emerging leader' bursary.
Valentina Florina-Drescanu, operations manager at Oakland International, was named a 2024 Cold Chain Federation Emerging Leader Bursary winner at the Cold Chain Live! 2024 event at the Telford International Centre on Wednesday 4 and Thursday, September 5.
The Cold Chain Emerging Leaders programme, launched earlier this year, aims to develop essential skills and experience for current and future industry leaders.

The award winners take part in a year-long programme, including residential sessions, online workshops, and coaching modules.
Ms Florina-Drescanu said: "I am truly honoured to receive this recognition.
"The support from my colleagues and company since I joined Oakland has been invaluable, and I look forward to all opportunities this programme will provide to enhance my skills and contribute to our industry.
"I am also immensely grateful to Oakland and our senior management for their encouragement and for creating a culture that empowers us to succeed."
In partnership with the trust, Ms Florina-Drescanu will attend the Cold Chain Federation Sustainability Summit and Parliamentary Reception, which will give her opportunities to network with cold chain leaders.
She will also participate in the Cold Chain Live! 2025 event, where she will hand over award responsibilities to a new winner.
Nicola Harris, group HR director at Oakland International, said: "We are thrilled for Valentina and dedicated in supporting her throughout this year-long programme, which provides a fantastic opportunity for talented and diligent individuals like Valentina to excel.
"As a leading light for women in Cold Chain, Valentina will develop the essential skills needed in our industry for future leaders in temperature-controlled logistics and be able to collaborate with industry peers and learn from the other exciting opportunities that lie ahead."
