ST Stephen's Church in Redditch has announced that the Reverend Dr Fraser Oates will be officially licensed as the new vicar during a service on Sunday, September 15.
The service, which will start at 6.30pm, will be led by bishop Martin, who will formally welcome Fraser to his new role.
This significant occasion marks the beginning of a new chapter in the life of St Stephen's Church and the wider Redditch community.
St Stephen’s Redditch is at the heart of a regional strategy for renewal in the Anglican church. It has been given resources for changes to the building alongside investment in several roles within the church.
The licensing service will be a joyful celebration and time to pray for renewal across Redditch, and members of the church and the local community are warmly invited to attend.
In addition to welcoming its new vicar, St Stephen's is hosting an Alpha course, beginning on Thursday, September 26 at 7.30 pm. The Alpha course offers an opportunity for anyone curious about the Christian faith to explore life, faith, and meaning in a friendly, open, and informal environment.
Running weekly at St Stephen's Church, each session of the Alpha course will include a short talk exploring the Christian perspective on various aspects of life, followed by an open discussion where participants can ask questions and share their thoughts.
