A CAR park will be temporarily closed later this month for essential improvement work and resurfacing.
The car park on Tanyard Lane in Alvechurch, will be completely inaccessible from 23 September for five days to be resurfaced.
Works will initially begin on September 18 when the car park will be open with reduced capacity.
The old surfacing will be planed off before new surfacing is put down and the lines painted back on. Bromsgrove District Council is asking residents to remove their cars from this area and the car park before the works begin on the 23rd.
The work, to be completed by the council’s contractors Kelbec, will be noisy and dusty, with the potential for disruption.
Cars left in close proximity to the works are left at the owners’ risk, as the planing of the old tarmac could cause damage.
Cabinet member for economic development and regeneration, councillor Sue Baxter, said: “This extended programme of works to improve parking facilities across the District is welcomed. Whilst we apologise for any inconvenience caused for the duration of the works and the car park closure, we hope that residents will be pleased to hear of the upgrade to their parking facilities.”
Access to the car park and use of the Electric Vehicle Charging Points will not be possible for the week commencing September 23. Residents are warned to make alternate arrangements during this time.
This work forms part of a larger ongoing car park improvement project around the district.
