Best places to live in Worcestershire by Muddy Stilettos

Muddy Stilettos readers have voted for the best places to live in Worcestershire.

Introducing the list of locations for the county, it said: “One of England's most beautiful counties, Worcestershire is a wonderland of natural beauty with the Malvern Hills, Wyre Forest and a network of pretty canals waiting to be explored.

“Team that with some exceptional schools and a thriving boutique and foodie scene, and it's got a lot to offer. Part of our Top 260 Best Places to Live series.

“THE RESULTS ARE IN! Find out where you voted as the hottest place to live locally!”

In number one spot is Broadway which is described as “picture-perfect” by the lifestyle site.

Muddy Stilettos said: “Picture-perfect with historic, honey-coloured buildings and a wide, sweeping high street (hence the name) which is lined with majestic red chestnut trees. Broadway is arguably one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds – it’s nickname is even ‘the Jewel of the Cotswolds’.

“Little wonder then it was crowned Muddy’s ‘Best Place to Live in Worcestershire’ 2024!

“It really does feel like you are on a film set here, Broadway’s lanes are incredibly pristine, and well-groomed and it’s gardens and greens manicured – this place is ohh so genteel. Located five miles west of buzzing Chipping Campden, the lovely lanes are home to artisan delis, art galleries, upmarket tea rooms, antique shops and boutiques.

“Whilst it gets its fair share of visitors it still retains a strong local community, a lovely central village green and being right on the border of Worcs and Glos (and just 20 minutes hop to Oxfordshire) you are really well placed for the best of both counties.”

In second place was Malvern, followed by Bewdley in third and Ombersley in fourth.

Malvern is described as being “hugged by some of the most jaw-dropping scenery in the South West” and Muddy Stilettos added “this picturesque spa town is the gateway to the Malvern Hills – a nine-mile stretch of AONB that rises from the surrounding meadows (locals call them the Midlands Alps).”

“Bewdley’s scenic riverside setting is utterly charming, and this small Georgian town is filled with lovely walks, a museum, gardens and almost 20 pubs and restaurants,” Muddy Stilettos said.

Ombersley is said to retain “the look and feel of a quintessentially English village” while also getting “plenty of metro-buzz minutes away in Worcester”.

Pershore was next on the list, ranked in 5th place, and it boasts “a homely, rural idyll of a town that’s heavy on character and charm.”

Coming in at 6th place was Upton-upon-Severn which is “a serene, riverside town for most of the year”.

Seventh and eighth place were taken by Inkberrow and Barnt Green, respectively.

Inkberrow is described as being a “cosy village” with “an idyllic setting and a strong community vibe” while Barnt Green is “a buzzing village with independent shops and some excellent pubs and eateries”, according to Muddy Stilettos.

Evesham was ranked in 9th place on the list and it’s the place to be if you like a “historic” town with “barrowfuls” of character.

Taking the 10th spot was Tenbury Wells which has been recognised as “a cosy, Victorian spa town” and “a picturesque location on the River Teme”.
