Avoncroft Museum is offering free entry for children this half-term with a Halloween-themed event.

The museum, near Bromsgrove, will host its 'Horrid Histories' half-term event, complete with a kids Go free offer.

This allows up to two children to enter the museum for free with each adult ticket purchased.

The event will feature a trail where visitors can discover "nasty facts" around the 19-acre site.

There will also be a spooky selfie spot, and the tearooms will be serving a variety of hot and seasonal food and drinks.

For an additional £3 per child, visitors can purchase an activity booklet and participate in 'spooky craft sessions', where they can make items like a white woolly ghost and a flying bat plate.

Also, the Bromsgrove Society of Model Engineers will be operating trains from Saturday (October 26) to Wednesday (October 30), and the weekend of November 2-3, with rides costing £1.

The museum's 'family trick or treat event' will also take place on October 31, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Tickets for this event will cost £6 per person, and must be booked in advance.

Participants are encouraged to dress in costume, and will receive a map and empty bag on arrival.

The map will guide them to spooky front doors around the site, with the promise of either a trick or treat behind each door.

This will be followed by a 7pm performance of R.O.G.E.R. Radio Attempts Frankenstein by Oddsocks Productions.

The theatre company is celebrating its 35th year of touring, and is known for its interactive and innovative adaptations of classic texts.

Creative producer Elli Mackenzie said: "We tend to make lasting relationships with our audiences.

"Our performances are like parties, and we are the hosts, so it is only right that people return for more."

Tickets for all events are available on the museum's website.
