A MURDER investigation has been launched after a woman was stabbed to death in Redditch this morning (Monday November 11).

A 44-year-old woman was found with stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to an address in Other Road at around 9.30am.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a reports of a stabbing at a private address on Other Road,  Redditch, at 9.32am.

"We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham.

"On arrival crews found a woman in a critical condition and they immediately began administering advanced life support.

"Sadly, despite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene." 

A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and was taken into police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher said: “Officers and paramedics were promptly on scene; however, it became clear the woman’s injuries were not survivable and she sadly died at the scene.

“We have arrested one man on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody.

“I would like to reassure the local community we believe there to be no wider risk to the public.

"A cordon is currently in place and the public can expect to see officers there throughout the day while enquiries are being carried out.”
