People in Worcestershire are being asked to vote for a project to receive £2,500 in funding.

The public vote is part of Severn Trent's new NeighbourGOOD scheme, which was launched in September.

The scheme aims to support community causes by offering a grant and volunteer help from employees.

An independent panel, including councillors and journalists, reviewed the many entries and selected the top three applications.

The public now has the final say in an online vote after watching the video applications.

The three projects are the No First Night Out Wellbeing Project, Burlish Bike Park and Outdoor Community Centre, and The Bungalow Project.

The No First Night Out Wellbeing Project provides housing for the homeless and hopes to use the grant to create a wellness garden to support residents' mental health.

The Burlish Bike Park and Outdoor Community Centre plans to use the funding to resurface bike trails, remove invasive plants, and improve the car park and forest area.

The Bungalow Project aims to create a therapeutic space at a former caretaker bungalow at Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, to help students with school attendance and wellbeing issues.

The voting window opened on Tuesday (November 12) and will run for four weeks.

Votes can be cast on the Severn Trent website.

Megan Aplin, societal strategy delivery manager at Severn Trent, said: "It was great to see so many applications for the NeighbourGOOD scheme, which shows just how important projects like this are to our communities.

"The panel had a very difficult job whittling them down to the final three, as there were so many worthy causes.

"It’s now over to the public to pick the winner."

The scheme is being run across all counties served by the water company, including the West Midlands.
