A supermarket in Redditch has generously donated a trolley full of Christmas gifts for children and young people with complex healthcare needs.
Tesco Extra Redditch donated the toys as part of The Orchard Services toy appeal after receiving an email from the nursing team.
Community champions Kacie Hopcroft and Samantha Hill jumped into action after the nursing team asked for their support.
The Orchard Service Community Children's Nursing and Palliative Care Team look after children aged 0 to 18 around Worcestershire who have long-term complex health care needs.
This includes those with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and they also support children and their families receiving end of life care.
A spokesperson for The Orchard Service said: "This year we are holding a festive event for the children and families we look after. This event allows children and young people undergoing treatment the opportunity to see Father Christmas in a safe environment.
"We are hoping each child we look after will receive a gift from our special grotto this year helping to create magical Christmas memories for our babies, children, young people and their families."
Kacie along with manager Jason Harris met with community children's nurse Lisa Morris and family support worker Helen Clayton to donate the toys.
Kacie said they were "happy to support such a worthy cause" and they hope the toys will help bring some joy this Christmas.
The team at The Orchard Service said they were very grateful for the kind donation and praised Tesco Extra Redditch for their help in supporting the toy appeal.
