A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a "beloved" mother who was stabbed to death.
Chris Hemming, of Other Road, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday (November 14) following the death of Cheryl McKenna in Redditch earlier this week.
Following the preliminary hearing, the defendant was remanded in custody until a plea and trial preparation hearing on January 31, 2025, when the 46-year-old is set to enter a plea.
West Mercia Police said they were called to an address on Other Road at around 9.30am on Monday, November 11 where a 44-year-old woman was found with fatal stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, the family of Ms McKenna said: “Cheryl was a huge and integral part of our family and will be missed terribly as a mother, daughter, sister and aunt.”
