Families across North Worcestershire marked the BBC’s annual Children in Need Appeal with activities and dressing up to raise awareness and hundreds of pounds.

Normal school uniform was replaced by yellow bear ears and spotty face paint for just one day as children and adults fundraised for Children in Need.

There was also lots of fun to be had as schools, businesses and community groups participated in fundraising challenges and did their bit to help make a difference.

Across Wyre Forest, Redditch and Bromsgrove, schools enjoyed non-uniform days, bake sales and activities with some children taking part in the Children in Need appeal for the first time.

This includes eight-month-old Lily-Rose Sargeant from Redditch and nine-month-old Isabella Brown from Bromsgrove.

Other children and their families got creative by making their own Pudsey tops including Skyla and Lucy Taylor from Wyre Forest.

Jules Evans also shared a photo of when she met Pudsey after working on the Countryfile tenth ramble for Children in Need in October at Chatsworth.

The Studley Stitchers were also getting crafty this year with their fantastic Pudsey post box toppers to help bring smiles to the community.

Later tonight, famous faces will be joining Pudsey the Bear, the organisation's mascot, for a night of fundraising.

Suggested ways to get involved on the Children in Need website include dressing up, holding a bake sale, getting sponsored to play video games or joining in with challenges.

Nationally, more than £7.5 million has been raised so far this year for Children in Need.

All donations go to the charity to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK including by supporting organisations across North Worcestershire.
