A PERSON has died after an incident at a train station in Birmingham over the weekend.
Trains operating between Birmingham New Street Station and Longbridge Station on Saturday, November 16 faced disruption and cancellations as emergency services responded to a “serious incident”.
The British Transport Police confirmed today, November 18, that one person, who has not been identified, died at a station on the line between New Street and Longbridge.
British Transport Police were called to University Station at around 2.50pm on Saturday, November 16 to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
A spokesperson from the force said: “Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased.
“The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
