THE attendance at the annual social gathering of the members of the congregation of St Stephen’s Church, on Wednesday night, was not as large as the previous year.
The night was a rough one, and just when many were making their way towards the Public Hall, rain fell heavilly.
But inside the hall, everything was of a bright and cheerful character.
At the front of the stage were a number of beautiful plants, and the decoration placed in the hall for the previous evening’s party had not been disturbed.
It was half past eight before it was possible to give any idea of how many would attend, but the provision of refreshments was ample for the needs of the gathering.
