THE employment scene in Redditch grew a little bleaker during the month of January according to the latest figures released by Jobcentre bosses.
A total of 6,360 men and women, 17.8 per cent of the population were registered as jobless at the beginning of February, the figures included 146 school leavers.
Slightly more job vacancies were notified during the period, with a total of 212 being filled out of 331.
Men and women registered with the professional and executive register for the area are included in the wholly unemployed figures.
Unemployment in Hereford-Worcester fell by 205 in mid-January to a total of 32,120.
