WHEN Redditch Urban Council’s public works committee met on Monday it was reported that the police considered it would be an advantage to traffic if the sodium lighting could be extended along the Birmingham Road beyond the Dagnell End Road junction to obviate the danger there.
Failing such a continuation of the lighting they would recommend that the bridge should be picked out in black in white, and that danger reflectors should be placed on the kerb on either side.
They were also of the opinion that there would be an improvement if the camber were raised on the near side of the road when travelling towards Birmingham.
Councillor H Spencer said he hoped the committee would consider extending the lighting to the boundary.
A decision is due to be made next month.
