FIFTY pounds is the cost of nuclear freedom for Redditch, at least for the time being.
Having established the town as a nuclear free zone in December, councillors have now agreed to pay a voluntary contribution of £50 in exchange for affiliation to the Nuclear Free Zone campaign.
Originally an application was made to join the campaign steering committee but all ten places have already been filled by other authorities.
Redditch is now eligible to receive information to keep the town in touch with the campaign’s progress.
The money donated by the council will be used to offset production costs at campaign headquarters.
