THE members of the Redditch District Education Committee met at the council house on Friday last week.
Mr Dolphin, one of the managers of Mount Carmel School said he wished to mention a matter, which though not strictly should be brought before the committee, would appeal to every manager in the district.
He referred to a visit from one of Her Majesty's Inspectors at the school and said that the managers had since received letters from the director of education stating that they had decided that the school could not be considered to provide effective accommodation for more than 100 children.
The letter asked for the observations of the managers with regard to a suggested reassessment of the accommodation.
Mr Dolphin said the managers had been put to very considerable expense in times gone by and the inspector was now making some very stringent demands, including alterations to the ventilation etc.
If the policy is adopted more schools would surely need to be provided and rates would be increased.
