STUDLEY Parish Council are to make nominations for a resident Justice of the Peace in the village.
They have approached the Warwickshire Commission of the Peace as the largest centre of population in the area because people are being forced to travel out of the village in order to get any papers signed by a Justice of the Peace.
They have been told that a nomination would be considered if the Council make one and that a person who was in the “lower half” of the 30-50 age group would be suitable.
There was some slight criticism about the disclosure of nominees political affiliations but it has been generally agreed that this was a good safeguard to avoid weighting the Bench with people of one political persuasion.
