THE Transport Museum in Chapel Lane, Wythall, has joined together with Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings in Bromsgrove to take families back in time on Fathers’ Day - Sunday 21st June.

At Wythall you will find around 100 classic buses, coaches and battery-electric vehicles, one of the largest collections of these vehicles in the UK. The volunteer-run museum recently enjoyed a Heritage Lottery Fund grant and its exhibition hall combines a fascinating selection of the museum’s vehicles, dating across the 20th century, with supporting displays.

Heritage buses and the miniature steam railway will be running at Wythall. In addition to the bus rides through Earlswood and Henley-in-Arden, there will be buses to Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings which will be holding a wartime weekend, transporting visitors back to the 1940s.

The two museums will be offering a special joint Super Family Ticket, covering up to two adults and three children. For £20 (£22 with Gift Aid), the tickets are valid for both museums and all bus rides at Wythall. Malcolm Keeley of the Transport Museum said “The saving compared to buying the ordinary tickets means that Dad has had a free day out on his special day!”

The Transport Museum, Wythall opens at 10.30am on Father’s Day.
