COUNCIL services have taken a battering once again as snowy weather takes its toll on Redditch.
Waste collection crews are working in Redditch but are emptying grey bins as a priority and are currently unable to collect bins from side roads or roads on an incline due to the on-going icy road conditions.
If residents have accumulated extra waste due to the delay in their grey bin being emptied, this will be collected if placed in a suitable sack or other container alongside the bin. Extra recycling should be placed in an open container next to the bin so that it can be easily emptied into the vehicle.
Residents are asked to continue to place their grey or green bin out each day from 7.30am as staff will be working to clear the backlog over the next few days, weather and road conditions permitting.
The landscape and street cleaning service in the town has been severely disrupted. Staff are carrying out snow clearing at key sites as appropriate.
With regard to repairs and maintenance, tenants will be notified if an appointment needs to be cancelled.
Dial-A-Ride staff are attempting to maintain a reduced service for the time being, to and from selected locations based on conditions. Customers will be advised about routes that are running.
All Worcestershire County Council day services will also be closed today and the situation will be reviewed tomorrow.
