A FAMILY day which brings the best of blues to the county is back for a third year.
Blues at the Fold will take place on Saturday, July 2, from 1pm until 11pm, combining the best in live blues music with the best in local food, beers and ciders.
The festival, which is held at The Fold, Bransford, near Worcester, will be headlined by top UK harp player Simon “Honeyboy” Hickling and his band and the Bex Marshall Band, fresh from a performance at Glastonbury, Somerset, a week before.
Also performing will be Rollo Markee and the Tailshakers, while The Big Blues Tribe will round off the night with their big blues party sound.
But music-lovers will have to act quickly to make sure they get tickets - there are only 450 spaces available.
Organiser Oliver Carpenter said: “We’re really excited about the line up for this, our third Blues at The Fold.
“We have a capacity of 450 and basically sold out last year. It was a great day with nationally-acclaimed musicians, delicious food and drink and lots of sunshine, so we’re really looking forward to the 2011 festival. Its a real family event.
“We keep the ticket prices low and encourage everyone to bring the family. We also have a special instrument making workshop and get the kids on stage to perform with one of the bands which is great fun."”
- Advance tickets are now on sale at £11 for adults, £3 for under 12s and free for under-fives.
Tickets on the day are £13 and camping available. For more information or to book tickets visit bluesatthefold.co.uk or call 01886 812989.
