ROAD rage killer Tracie Andrews is expected to be released from prison this week.

The 41-year-old, who stabbed her 25-year-old fiancé Lee Harvey up to 40 times then claimed he had been killed by a vengeful motorist, is coming to the end of her 14-year minimum tariff.

Andrews, then living at The Becks in Alvechurch, stabbed Mr Harvey as the couple made their way home from the Marlbrook pub in Bromsgrove in December 1996.

She was convicted of murder in July 1997 by a jury at Birmingham Crown Court.

A national newspaper reported yesterday that she will be released on Thursday.

A spokesman from the Ministry of Justice said they never commented on a prisoner’s release date but said those given life sentences were subjected to strict conditions on release.

He said: “Offenders released on life licence are subject to strict licence conditions and are carefully supervised by staff trained in risk assessment and risk management.

“Approved premises provide an enhanced level of 24-hour supervision, with offenders following a structured regime which includes an overnight curfew and the potential for movements to be monitored via CCTV.”
