RESIDENTS are being invited to a celebration at the Headless Cross orchard and wildflower meadow.
The event, organised by a group of volunteers looking after the orchard, will include a selection of displays and a number of activities for people to get involved in.
There will also be the chance for people to find out what the group has done with the orchard what plans it has for the future.
Neil Marsh, of Headless Cross Green Community Orchard, said: “Bring your glut of beans, all those mammoth pumpkins and your windfall apples.
“Let's share all this lovely local food and celebrate what talent and goodness we have here.
“We're lucky to have this bit of green space in Headless Cross so let's preserve it and help it to grow.”
As well as activities and games there will also be stalls from a number of community groups.
Mr Marsh added: “The orchard group is keen to have regular seasonal events on the green from a 'Wassail' in the new year, to blossom walks in Spring and apple days in Autumn.
“There are lots of things that we can do around fruit - come along and get involved.”
The event is on Saturday, September 17 from 11am until 3pm on Headless Cross Green (opposite Morris Mica).
