A NEW project costing almost £8,000 has been set up to encourage children to play safely in Wythall.

The project, delivered by the Toy Library Sports Rangers, has been funded by councillor Stephen Peters who granted The Toy Library £7,992 from the Community Leadership for Health Fund.

The aim is to give children and young people the chance to play safely within their own community.

Sessions, which run until October 26, are carried out on Wythall Community Association Playing Fields on a Wednesday between 4-6pm term-time.

They were also delivered during the summer holiday.
