LOCAL businesses can now benefit from a brand new website that may help them find financial assistance.

Worcestershire County Council's economic development team has launched Finance Worcestershire – financeworcestershire.co.uk – to help businesses find finance information quickly and easily in one place.

The online resource includes a free-to-search database of grants, loans, venture capital and other financing options.

The database includes finance provided by district councils as well as national and European sources. Search results are tailored to individual businesses, based on their size, location and sector. The results also take account of their specific requirements, for example, whether the company is looking for financial assistance for marketing, energy efficiency, recruitment or general business development.

The information available on the website is provided by Idox Solutions and is checked and updated weekly, so businesses can expect to stay in touch with the latest updates.

Lara Williams, Worcestershire County Council's business and policy officer said: "This is an extremely useful new resource for businesses throughout the county, whatever their size.

"The website can be used by sole traders to large corporations, with search results tailored to the individual company's situation. With all the information online, businesses can log on at anytime to suit their working day."
