THE chief-executive of an Alcester-based training company, has taken part in a skydive to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Krissy Charles-Jones, the CEO of Bright International Training, which has recently moved its offices to Alcester, got more than she bargained for when she completed her skydive on Thursday, September 29.
Although it had been a lifelong ambition, it wasn’t quite the experience she’d been expecting.
She said: “I thought it would be a good idea, a good fundraiser, but I absolutely hated it. I was fine all the way up in the plane, and then when it was the time to jump out, at that point I thought ‘oh my god, what have I done?’.”
not one to back down in the face of a challenge, Mrs Charles-Jones gritted her teeth, and went through with the jump.
She added: “When I actually fell out of the plane, I felt completely out of control and scared. I started having a panic attack, and when we landed they had to call an ambulance. It was the worst day of my life, but I did it, I can say I did it, and it was for a really good charity, that’s the only thing that’s made me feel better.”
So far Mrs Charles-Jones, who’s from Welford, has raised £390 for Acorns Children’s Hospice, but she would like to increase that amount, and anyone who feels her pain, can help the fundraising, by visiting doitforcharity.com/www.doitforcharity.com/brightassessing.
