WORCESTERSHIRE County Council is calling for residents and businesses to take part in an online survey about broadband before November 1.

The council is actively working on a local broadband plan for the entire county to improve speed, coverage and reliability of broadband. As part of the plan, residents and businesses are encouraged to take part in the brief online survey that should take no more than five minutes to complete.

Participation in the survey will be important in providing clear evidence of the need and demand for better broadband in the county.

Having already secured national funding, plans will be submitted to Broadband Delivery UK in November. It is hoped that if extra funding is realised, it will help tackle areas of the county with either no broadband coverage or very low bandwidth, particularly rural areas, and increase speeds to maximise the county's business competitiveness around the world.
