A PHARMACY in Redditch is taking part in the 'Grab a Jab' initiative encouraging residents to get their first Covid-19 vaccination.

Knights Pharmacy in Moons Moat will open as a mass vaccination clinic this weekend - from June 26 to June 27.

Those 18 or over looking to get their first jab can book an appointment for this weekend by calling 01527 502355 up to 3pm this afternoon (Friday, June 25).

The number is only valid for this weekend and other bookings should be made via the NHS system. Knight's Pharmacy will be offering the Pfizer vaccine.

Residents are reminded to bring photo ID to prove their age.

The Artrix in Bromsgrove will also be taking part on Saturday, June 26. It will be open for appointments from 2pm to 6pm.

Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: "Across Worcestershire, our vaccine programme has been really successful, the numbers of people taking up the offer of a vaccine have been positive.

"We are so grateful to everyone who has come forward so far across the county.

"Clinics like these make it much easier and more convenient for people come forward and to get vaccinated. Vaccination is so important, not only as it protects the person receiving the vaccine but it also helps to protect their loved ones and local residents.”
