TO plan or not to plan, that is the question – and do departments consult each other?
One department considers the plans to demolish the Greig Hall, Alcester’s only large community building, and replace it with 30 houses, and another department is about to decide on the small matter of building 1,000 houses in Alcester on designated land within the bypass.
Perhaps Stratford District Council hope that the developers will provide a site, build a new building all as part of the new-build planning process.
The Greig site is ideally placed on land given with a covenant to the community in the 1950s by Alcester Rural District Council. Surely now is the time for all to join together and sort this out and decide what is best for our community.
