AS regular users of Arrow Valley Park, we used to look forward to calling in at the cafe after our walk.
It was always friendly and inviting, with a good selection of freshly made sandwiches and hot food, for adults and children, and lovely homemade soups But the only food now available is over-priced sandwiches, paninis and jacket potatoes and a few pre-packed cakes. There is only sweets, crisps and ices for children. Although the building was looking tired, the new refurbishment is lacking in any kind of atmosphere. It is supposed to be a park cafe, not some sort of up-market “coffee shop” and should be inviting to both adults and children.
Its saving grace is the few remaining original staff, who it is always a pleasure to see.
We call in for the occasional coffee now but go somewhere else for lunch. There must be a lot of people who feel the same way as we do.
